If you're using the ordering portal, you may notice that the final step in the checkout process is submitting a quote. This step is an important part of how our ordering system works, and it's helpful to understand what happens once a quote is submitted.
Does submitting a quote mean I've placed an order?
Yes. Submitting a quote is the equivalent of placing an order.
Unlike other systems where quotes may be reviewed or adjusted before an order is confirmed, submitting a quote in our portal signals that you are ready for our team to begin processing your order. Once the quote is submitted, our team starts placing orders with the appropriate vendors.
Because of this, it's important to review all items in your cart carefully before submitting your quote.
Why does the system use a quote instead of placing an order directly?
The quote stage provides a short buffer between when you submit your order and when our team places the orders with vendors.
This process allows our team to manage orders more efficiently since many orders involve multiple vendors. While you submit one quote in the portal, our team often needs to place separate orders with each vendor to fulfill the items in your cart.
Using the quote step helps ensure everything is processed correctly before the order is finalized.
When does my quote become an order?
Your quote converts into an official order after our team has successfully placed the vendor orders for all items in your cart.
Once that happens, the order is finalized in the system.
When will I be charged for my order?
You will only be charged after all items in your quote have been ordered from the vendors.
This helps ensure that your order is accurate and that any potential issues are addressed before payment is processed.
What happens if an item is out of stock?
The quote stage gives our team a window of time to address situations such as:
Items being out of stock
Products needing substitutions or replacements
If an issue arises, our team will reach out to confirm any changes before the order is finalized.
Where do I submit my quote in the portal?
After adding items to your cart, you can access your quote by selecting “Review Quote” in the upper-right corner of the ordering portal. From there, you can review the items in your cart and submit the quote to begin order processing.
