What is the Difference Between an 'Order' and a 'Quote'?

Created by Nicole Himebaugh, Modified on Thu, 12 Feb at 9:18 AM by Nicole Himebaugh

In the ordering portal, submitting a Quote is equivalent to submitting an Order.

Once a quote is submitted, it enters our standard order processing workflow and will be converted into an order automatically. No additional approvals are needed to push it through for the items to get placed with the vendors. Submitting the quote is the only step required to initiate the order.

Follow-up is only required in specific situations, such as if you would like to make changes to your submission, if an item is backordered, if you require approval for your quotes from a manager on your team, or if our team identifies a more cost-effective alternative for a selected item.
